Astrea or Issy, as she was affectionately known during her stay at the Rehoming Project, was one of two older female tokotas rescued from a tokota-like puppy farm from the north of the country. Issy was particularly worse off than her other counterpart - malnourished, slightly aggressive towards humans (most likely due to her attachment issues with her pups & over breeding), missing hair and general ill health. Issy has had 11 litters in her lifetime, all puppies taken from her at a much too early age to be sold on to unaware newbies to the tokota community eager to begin participating. Issy takes awhile to warm up to people - she needs a lot of time to get accustomed to a stranger's presence before she's willing to offer up any sort of interest or kindness toward you. Due to her history which saw her living in small, refined spaces for long periods of time, Issy can be prone to running off when outside due to sheer curiosity of the world around her. Her new owner will need to spend a lot of time watching over her, bonding with her and developing her trust in order for her to reach true happiness.
