Lore:
Do not travel the beaches of Narnvak when it storms. Catalyst for the myths of kelpies in Tokotna, Ing’a has a tendency to drown any who approach her. The spirit is said to have been an ordinary tokota abandoned by her handler in a terrible storm, left to drown as the flood waters rose; leaving her bitter and spiteful towards handlers and tokotas alike. This anger has devolved into the spirit drowning those who cross paths with her. Those that have lived through encounters with her often say they felt deeply compelled to approach her like some force was convincing them that she was either in danger and needed rescue or that she was lonely and needed someone to comfort her. It is said that if you can grab a strand of hair from her tail and weave it into a bracelet, the ocean can do you no harm. Storms will toss your ship, but never break it. Riptides will pull you out to sea, but you're always able to find your way out. If you successfully avoid falling under her spell, Ing'a will never again try to tempt you. Instead, she will flee when she spots you. Ing'a is strongest when she has the element of surprise. If you approach her confidently, it is easy to scare her back into the sea.
