Lore:
Nyvindu is often regarded as the protector of the jungle by the locals. He is peaceful to those who hold no ill will yet will also not hold back to those who have the intent of harm. Nyvindu is considered to be not only playful but also curious. He can frequently be seen watching travelers in the form of a panther.
Nyvindu once belonged to a strong and thriving tribe. He survived off the land well and was soon renowned for his tracking abilities. People within the tribe began to go missing in the thick jungle that surrounded the tribe and soon a rumor of a fierce and relentless jaguar that resided within the untamed jungle began to spread like wildfire. Many tribespeople believed the jungle cat was the cause of the disappearances, but none were brave enough to venture into the deadly jungle; all except for Nyvindu. He set off into the lush green jungle with nothing but a golden-tipped spear and his tracking abilities, in hopes of finding the beast that had been ravaging his home. He spent many nights and days tracking the beast until he finally found it perched upon a desolate and aged ruin of a once-magnificent temple. Nyvindu wasted no time and lunged at the unsuspecting beast. To his surprise, it seemed that as he stabbed into the beast, he was met by no resistance from the creature. The jungle, once full of the screaming and chittering of nearby wildlife suddenly grew eerily silent. The only sound that resonated sounded almost like distant drums that soon grew closer. The man ran from the slowly chilling corpse of the panther he had just slain. The drums seemed to grow in their intensity before a loud chanting began. The noise had the man covering his ears, but it was to no avail because it seemed that the slamming of the drums and the screams of chanting were coming from within his own head. With eyes clenched tight, he clutched his head so tight his knuckles turned white. He began to scream out his pain into the silent jungle before everything stopped as quickly as it had appeared. He lowered his hands to the ground and panted hard before opening his eyes. He gasped as he was greeted with the sight of inky black paws where his hands should have been and he tried to scream once more but only guttural roars echoed forth. Ever since that day, it is said that if you leave a piece of gold at the edge of the jungle and announce to the green hell the name of someone you lost in the depths, sooner or later they will be tracked down by a seemingly distraught panther and brought back to the edge of the jungle unharmed.
