Information

Player vs Player competitions, or PvP, are contests between just two Tokotas. You may choose to draw your Tokota and their chosen opponent in a single image, or you may draw only your Tokota and be paired with RNG to another single entry.
But beware: All of these events have the potential for your Tokota to walk away with injuries!

> The current season's prompts can be found on the latest PvP journal. <

Rules & Requirements

General
  • Each "round" has a maximum of two participants. A round is a scored group that compete against each other.
  • You may create 30 PvP entries per month for all classes, total.
  • Bruised Injuries affect PvP entry scores negatively. Points are deducted depending on the severity of the injuries.
    • Severely Bruised tokotas may still enter but their scores will always receive a -30 point reduction unless their injuries are healed.
  • To participate, you must create a new tracker journal or add a section to your current tracker(s) where admins can respond with official event results.
  • Collaboration is allowed, but only double entries may contain two Tokotas. Said Tokotas must be the Tokotas competing against each other.
    • Double entries count as an entry for each player.
  • 'Randomly paired' entries may only contain one Tokota.
  • In RNG paired rounds, the oldest entry in the folder will be paired with the randomly selected opponent.
  • 'Choose your own opponent' entries must have the non-submitting owner post permission for their Tokota to participate. Any entries without explicit permission from the Tokota's owner will be denied.
  • A Tokota with the Aippaq's Guidance alpha trait may replace a handler when required for a prompt. The traited Tokota must be linked in the description of the PvP piece.
  • Tribe owned Tokotas are not allowed to participate.
Art

Universal Art Requirements

  • Image must be at minimum 300x300 pixels to be valid. Pixel art may be scaled up to meet these requirements.
  • Images must be relatively clean and may not look sketchy and unfinished. All art will be judged against your own gallery standards.
  • Tokota(s) must be depicted as full body (75% visible) in order for entry to be valid.
    • Where required, Handlers, Starters, or Lore Figures must be depicted as half body (50% visible).
    • When required, prey animals must have at least 25% visibility to be valid.
  • A semi-complex background is required, following requirements in the Activities Visual Guide. Large open spaces should be colored, textured, shaded, or broken up by other shapes and elements. Generally you must have 3-4 unique elements for your background.
    • At least 50% of depicted Tokotas, handlers, prey, etc. must be on the background, not in transparent or white space.
  • Images must be colored and all depicted Tokotas must have identifiable markings.
  • Greyscale, Monochromatic, and Color Palette themed images are permitted. They are held to the above rules where all Tokotas must be identifiable with easily discernible markings.
  • Shading is optional and not required.
  • All art must be your own original work, adhere to rules laid out in the Group Rulebook and may not be re-used in multiple parts of the Tokotas group.
    • Tracing other artists' work, using bases, presets, premade 3D models, or AI (Artificial Intelligence) Generated Art is prohibited in all aspects of the Tokotas Group. You may not use it for any submission, as whole or part of an image.
  • You may have your images take place off Tokotna, and in fantastic settings. Tokotas may have your own personal lore which does not match that of the group. They must always be depicted as Tokotas, however, not real or fictional creatures of any other kind.

PvP Specific Requirements

  • Where equipment is listed it must be shown at least 50% (e.g. sleds, tack).
Literature

Universal Literature Requirements

  • Literature entry must be at least 1200 words.
  • Entry should be focused on and relevant to the activity or prompt, with a clear beginning and end.
  • Tokota(s) must be present consistently through the entry. Generally a Tokota must be mentioned at least 6-7 times.
  • Where required, Handlers, Starters, or Lore Figures must also be present throughout entry with similar requirements to the above.
  • Entry should not be padded with overly excessive repetition of names, descriptions, etc.
  • All literature must be your own original work, adhere to rules laid out in the Group Rulebook and may not be re-used in multiple parts of the Tokotas group.
    • Plagiarizing other writers’ work or AI (Artificial Intelligence) Generated Literature is prohibited in all aspects of the Tokotas Group. You may not use it for any submission, as whole or part of an image.
  • You may have your stories take place off Tokotna, and in fantastic settings. Tokotas may have your own personal lore which does not match that of the group. They must always be depicted as Tokotas, however, not real or fictional creatures of any other kind.

PvP Specific Requirements

  • None

How to Enter
Submit your entry to the class's linked folder with the appropriate form filled out in the description. Each event type's form is listed in its own section.

Scoring

Scoring in PvP is simple. Each round is worth up to 100 points: 50 from bonuses, and 60 from RNG. The Tokota with the most points wins.
If your Tokota has more than 50 bonus points, only the first 50 listed will apply.

Prizes

Prizes for these events are only given to the winner and come in the form of a Winner Surprise Pack. Like Treasure Chests, these packs open to reveal a randomly selected prize from the pool of possible prizes.
There are three levels of prizes to correspond with the three levels of risk in the events, and your prizes are based on the danger level of the entry!
As they say, the greater the risk, the greater the reward!
Trophies
Much like Continuous Events, your Tokotas can earn trophies for winning in PvP! Once a Tokota reaches a certain number of wins, they can claim a trophy in the Event Redeems thread of the current Toko Tokens Bank journal. All wins must be by the same Toko and in the same class; Safe, Risky or Dangerous.
  • Bronze Trophies are awarded at 5 total wins
  • Silver Trophies are awarded at 15 total wins
  • Gold Trophies are awarded at 30 total wins
These wins are cumulative and do not have to be of a single prompt. 5 PvP Wins may also be used to satisfy PotA requirements.

FAQ

  • My Tokota got injured! Where do I fix that?
  • Can I avoid getting injuries?
    • Yes and no. Hardy, Porcupine, Porcupine Totem, Tenacious and Leg Protectors all function in PvP as they do in REs, but there is no longer a way to completely avoid the chance of getting injured.
However, if your tokota has both Hardy/Porcupine/Porcupine Totem and Tenacious/Leg Protectors, the chance of landing serious injuries goes down drastically!
  • Do Blessed or Aippaq's Luck apply to PvP?
    • No, neither of these traits apply to or have any effect on PvP competitions.
  • Do PvP entries earn any bonus HP?
    • Yes! All PvP entries gain the +2 Show HP bonus. However, no PvP entry gains bonus HP for placing, regardless if you win or lose.
  • What do the different PvP folders titles mean?
    • PvPs come in many flavors! Other than the three different risk types, there are a few options for entry types. Please note that entry types count towards monthly limits based on how many tokotas you include of your own.
    • Single: You include one tokota of your own and get paired with a random opponent or a ghost.
    • Double: You include one tokota of your own and one tokota owned by someone else and you compete between each other.
    • 2v: Works the same way as Single, but you include two of your own tokotas, and get paired with another entry that has two tokotas or 2 ghosts.
    • 2v2: Works the same way as Double, you include two of your own as well as two tokotas owned by someone else, and you compete between each other.
    • 4v: Works the same way as Single/2v, but you include four of your own tokotas, and get paired with another entry that has four tokotas or 4 ghosts.
    • 4v4: Works the same way as Double/2v2, you include four of your own as well as four tokotas owned by someone else, and you compete between each other.
