Greetings and welcome back to Tokotas! Over the years Tokotas has evolved quite a bit and there have been a lot of major changes to adjust to. This guide aims to log major changes for easy reference for both old and new players alike.

Listed below are the details that have changed, along with the date they have been implemented for your reference.

  • 09/16/2015 - Male breeding slot limits were implemented. More information can be found here.

  • 02/11/2018 - Leasing has made a return as a tribe-based feature.
  • 10/09/2018 - New crafting items have been released! The new Hammer tool can be used to craft arrowheads as well as crush both large and small skulls into large and small bone fragments!
2019
  • 02/04/2019 - A new totem system has been implemented, complete with new crafted totems and the items to craft them - Please read more about totem building here: Totems and Totem Building
  • 09/01/2019 - There are new crafting recipes to unlock! These new items are Tack Trunk, Light Elixir, Fur Foundation, and Collar Concealer.
  • 11/05/2019 - PotA tokens can no longer be used to remove traits from uploaded tokotas or genotypes. PotA tokens can now be used to remove infertility from a genotype, and to resurrect a deceased genotype (Resurrection is only applicable to Genos born after November 5th 2019)
2020
  • 01/05/2020 - Factions! All the factions! We have entered a new beta phase where our classic 2 factions have branched out drastically to include a total of 6 factions to choose from, each with an array of bonuses affecting different areas of the group. Please see the updated Factions journal to view all the new bonuses and choices available to you!
  • 01/12/2020 - Due to the faction system, outstanding faction challenge Random Event prompts will be voided on January 31, 2020 and will no longer be eligible for completion.
  • 03/04/2020 - Aippaq’s Shrine received a huge overhaul; instead of only leaving offerings for Aippaq, you can now exchange your unwanted genos for tokens that can be cashed in for prizes at different deities’ shrines depending on the month! Aippaq’s is open year-round, but you can read more about the Shrine of the Seven Stones over on Tokotna.
  • 05/06/2020 - The new factions have officially exited beta and their bonuses have been solidified. In addition to the two original factions, Pack Leader and Prestige Breeder, we’re happy to welcome Lore Keeper, Knowledge Seeker, Token Broker, and Wilderness Tracker! You may change your faction up to four times a year from your Tokotna profile.
  • 06/07/2020 - A new soul pool companion has joined the ranks; the Spirit Dove will increase the minimum litter size by one!
  • 08/06/2020 - Genos in the Adoption Center are no longer listed on a massive spreadsheet, and are instead now randomly rolled. New players may choose a gender, base coat, and if they'd like a defect or let everything be random.
  • 08/31/2020 - The player achievement system was released. You can find yours on your profile, and more achievements will be available over time.
2021
  • 02/02/2021 - Quests have been updated and now only change on a monthly basis.
  • 02/07/2021 - You are now able to shrine tokota slots, either slots to your own tokotas or slot permissions that have been written out to you. Only Full slots are applicable, Split or PotL slots are not. Everyone can shrine a maximum of 10 tokota slots a month.
    Important Disclaimer: All shrined slots may be used by the group to breed said tokota. The group does not enforce “no shrining” rules listed on breeding slots.
  • 03/07/2010 - Pyrite Starter Slots were released, allowing users to emulate Tokotines year-round! Pyrite is a new type of Starter Slot with its own slot pool consisting of slots that have been shrined via Shrine of the Seven Stones. The match for your Tokota from the Pyrite Pool is randomly chosen, and counts towards your monthly starter breedings.
  • 04/21/2021 - The Spirited Competitor tribe achievement tree was reworked with a new set of bonuses to better fit it’s intended theme and make its power level on par with the other tribe achievement trees. Additionally, a tribe may now change their specialized tree once.
  • 05/05/2021 - Outfitted has been renamed to Overachiever, and comes with a shiny new bonus! Outfitted’s old bonus has been given to the new trait Equipped.
  • 07/07/2021 - Guides for several systems have been overhauled and moved to Tokotna. This includes Activity and Breeding guides, all of which can be found under the "Game Guides" category on Tokopedia.
  • 07/07/2021 - Tribes can now change thier Showstopper and Specialist bonuses be re-doing the achievement requirements.

  • MM/DD/2022 -
