When the region of Alurik was first born from the sea, a sapling grew from the ashes of Ravarri. The sapling grew rapidly, taking the form we know of as Shyo today. With her long tail, she sweeps her paw prints out behind her and spreads the ashes to nearby crop fields. Her gentle nature makes her very approachable, if a bit shy. It is customary for farmers in Alurik to hold a celebration for her in the spring to ask for her blessing upon their crops that year. Participants will offer the spirit blooming plum branches when she walks through their towns in the hope that she will accept them. It is believed that if she accepts your branch you will prosper in the coming year. Typically this shows itself in a bountiful harvest, but it can also be a blessing of fertility for those trying to conceive.

Shyo is also known for cooling flowing lava to protect the crops and creatures of Alurik. Finding obsidian near an old lava flow is considered a sign of her passing and good luck.
