Tartok Foothills

Tartok
Rain, snow, wetter than most other areas
Description:
The Tartok Foothills can be found surrounding the entirety of the Tartok Mountains. Unlike their center, they aren't quite as harsh on those that choose to live in them. Prey is more plentiful in the form of small mammals, but bears are also known to walk the hills, and in summer moose will bring their calves up to graze. The hills range from soft and grassy arctic fields to solid stone. Rarely there are small patches of trees, but nothing worth calling a forest. There are two larger cave systems, both leading into the mountain, and several smaller cave sets whose entryways can be found in the foothills. Humans live in these hills, though not many, and every now and again a small cabin or stable set can be found tucked away in a little valley. The land itself has contested ownership between the Densa and IIa packs. The Densa claim that it belongs to them as it is a part of their mountain, but they seldom use it because of how far away all the hills are from their normal location. This leads to the IIa pack using it as a hunting ground when they need it, which only serves to enrage the Densa pack despite their lack of need or use of the land.

Lore:
  • There are two large cave systems that are located in the area.
  • No one set of lore rules this area.
  • According to the Densa pack, the foot hills were created the same way as the mountain at the same time.
  • According to the IIas, the foothills were created long after the mountains, when their pack was starving, and were created along with rabbits so that their pack would not die from hunger.
  • The hills are generally not dangerous, but they can be very easy to get lost in during storms.
