Tribes are able to build substantial lore around themselves and when they've unlocked certain achievements, then their lore may be used in group activities. This includes deities, locations, and rites. Each tribe is different and their lore reflects that.

Tribe Deity

Tribe Deities are Lore figures that are tribe-created and themed by the tribe.
All tribes may create one Major Deity, there is no unlock requirement, following the rules listed below. The ability to create three Minor Deities is unlocked by the A Spirit’s Trilogy achievement. Once unlocked, each tribe gets one light, neutral, and dark deity.

Tribe Deity Rules
  • All tribe deities must be SFW and follow all rules outlined in the Official Group Rulebook.
  • Art must be completed at official tokotas import size (2543 x 1936) and should be of good quality.
  • You cannot request your art be removed or re-purposed.
  • You may use any existing tokotas official background or create a custom background for your Tribe deity.
  • You may use official tokotas lineart in whole or part to create your deity. You can look at our official group deities for inspiration.
  • Tribe deities cannot mimic existing tokotas, other ARPG animals, or official group lore, such as Aippaq, Sikrinerk, or any other deities.
    • They should have unique features that distinguish them from other deities and tokotas.
  • Tribe deities cannot be too complex. In other words, a typical member should be able to easily replicate it in art.
  • Tribe deities are eligible to confer the lore HP bonus (+2HP) to tokotas owned by members of their tribe when included in art and literature.
  • Founders and Tribe Moderators may submit deities for approval in the cycling Tribes Journal.
Please note that by submitting a tribe deites, the artist and founder acknowledge that the art will be uploaded to TotemSpirit and the rights will henceforth be owned by the group, to be used only as that specific tribe's deity.

Canon Locations

Tribe Canon Locations are places that are tribe-created and themed by the tribe. They may serve as the homebase or important areas for the tribe.
The ability to create three Canon Locations is unlocked by the Legends of the Land achievement.
Please check your tribe’s Tokotna Lore page for their canon locations.
Tribe Canon Location Rules:
  • All tribe locations must be SFW and follow all rules outlined in the Official Group Rulebook.
    • Bad/Offensive Stereotypes will not be used.
  • Locations must include the form below. There is no minimum or maximum word count.
  • If locations meet group rules and pass, entries may be modified by the group for grammar before being posted to your tribes page.
  • Locations must be be viable in current Tokotna Lore, we may request corrections.
  • You cannot request your art be removed or re-purposed.
  • Tribe locations may include art of the location at the maximum size of 500 x 500
  • Map Pin locations may be requested. Pins are first come, first served, and we will do our best to place them in the correct area.
  • Founders and Tribe Moderators may submit cannon locations for approval in the cycling Tribes Journal.
  • Locations may be updated via the World Tree Submission thread on the Tribes journal.

Tribe Rite Prompts

Tribe Rite Prompts are tribe-created Rite of Dominance and Passage of the Alpha. They are themed by the tribe and the Soul Companion the tribe has picked.
The ability to create 3-5 RoD Prompts is unlocked by the Finding Your Our Way achievement.
The ability to create 3-5 PotA Prompts is unlocked by the One For the Road achievement.
Please check your tribe’s Tokotna Lore page for their rite prompts.
Tribe Prompt Rules:
  • You must be a member of the Tribe to use the tribe’s prompts.
  • All tribe prompts must be SFW and follow all rules outlined in the Official Group Rulebook.
    • Bad/Offensive Stereotypes will not be used.
  • Prompts must be themed around the tribe’s lore, deities, locations, and soul animal.
  • If prompts meet group rules and pass, prompts may be modified by the group for grammar before being posted to your tribes page.
  • There is no minimum or maximum word count.
  • You cannot request your prompts be removed or re-purposed.
  • Prompts are counted as generic prompts and not for any specific soul companion.
  • Founders and Tribe Moderators may submit prompts for approval in the cycling Tribes Journal.
