"Kai is an orphan tossed round from home to home. Unfortunately she was usually given to families who had little money and thus she learned to fend for herself. Within her last placement family, Kai found herself on thrust into caring for the families Tokotas and in return, began to bond with one of the Tokotas, Issumatar. Issu was one of the older nearly-retired show Tokos with a lot of personality. When she aged out of the system and was old enough to look after herself, the family gifted Issumatar to her and he joined her on her quest as a wanderer, where they made money by selling pelts and other items they found on their travels. As they continued, other Tokotas began to join the pair on their adventure."
