The Shrine

(Location)

Description

The Shrine is an ancient Stone Statue of a Tokota, sitting with it's head bowed and it's eyes closed in the middle of the Savannah. At its foot is a fountain that always springs with water, even in droughts. Drinking it would be blasphemy to anyone but the High Shaman, who is allowed to ingest it when a vision is needed and the gods need to be contacted right away. Offerings of flowers, herbal teas, jewels and many other things may be placed into the water. Where they go after that, no one knows, but the bottom of the Fountain remains clear and white and empty as before the offering was put in. It has since become the most important place of worship for many tribes, and a sacred meetin place for all Shamans, to introduce new knowledge and new Tribes into their ranks.
