History:
Locus was originally born into an underground Tokota fighting ring. Bred for strength and toughness, Locus was brutal. While he was still young and scared, he accidentally met and bonded with Felix, a fast, agile, kennel mate also bred for the fight ring. The two of them relied on each other for the social and emotional stability their lives lacked. Much to their owner's agitation, despite being taught to attack any tokota put in the cage with him, Locus never reacted aggressively towards the slightly smaller dire. Eventually, their owner decided to turn that flaw into an advantage and started tossing the pair of them into the ring as a team. They turned out to be a lethal combination.

Eventually, the TCA busted the fighting ring and seized all Tokotas involved in the fiasco. They originally tried to separate Felix and Locus, handling one emotionally unstable Tokota was bad enough, but handling two emotionally unstable Dires was a whole new level of difficult. However, they quickly realized Locus got much worse when Felix wasn't around, growling and snapping at anyone who approached him, reached out to him, or even looked at him for too long. Locus' future was looking pretty bleak when TCA-Certified foster handlers David and Tucker offered to take in the two Dires. It took months, but the two handlers managed to get the two Tokotas to the point where they're fine not seeing each other for a couple days. Ten years later and they're still with David and Tucker. There are still bad days, and it's always touch and go when having Locus interacting with other Tokotas, but overall he's mostly rehabilitated.

Partner:
Felix 22605:
Locus and Felix are a peculiar pair. Both very harsh, arrogant individuals with the skills and strengths to back up their pride. The work together flawlessly, easily using their strengths to cover each other's weaknesses. Though occasionally frustrated with Felix's devil-may-care attitude, Felix is probably the only one this surly dire sees as his equal, and certainly the only one he actually likes. ...Not like he'd ever tell Felix that.

 

 

Companions:
Patches:
Patches was given to Locus in an attempt to give the big dire something safe to let his aggression out on. His handlers realized the plan kind of backfired when Locus became very possessive and protective of the little stuffed toy. It's not uncommon to see the surly dire carefully carrying Patches around with him whenever they're at home.

Rusty:
Locus thinks Rusty is a very vivid hallucination. He tries not to acknowledge the little dinosaur. Rusty on the other hand, loves Locus, and always tries to help him out on his adventures.

M739 SAW:
SAW tends to show up when Locus is hunting. He doesn't always feel the need to join in, so most of the time, he just hangs around and watches the show. Occasionally though, he'll join in the hunt, giving them a slightly larger take, with the expectation that someone'll feed him something before they leave.
