The Iridescent Outpost is a large encampment situated to the west of the Anirniit Valley, covering the easternmost foothills of the Taniya Mountains. It serves as an outpost, an inn, and a stable for Tokotas. It is within relative proximity to the Spirit's Falls, and across the valley from it is Akycha's Gate. The main encampment is located exactly on the leg of an imaginary triangle between the Anirniit Valley's sacred lake, the Spirit Falls, and Akycha's Gate.

The Outpost is home to a small staff of people per location, with the owners, Tsubasa and his wife Swallowtail, residing at the main lodge. Besides them, many travelers are welcomed to take shelter at the Outpost and restock their supplies.

The climate at the main camp is relatively temperate for its location; it is warm in the spring and summer, usually rainy up to November, and has moderate winters. The locations are know for icing over in the fall and winter, especially on the flat areas of the foothills.
Up towards the higher points of the mountains, the temperature is much colder and the weather is more severe, with hail and blizzards not uncommon.
