History:
Obocri belongs to the Interworld Association of Information. (It’s basically space wikipedia.) They run off donations (both money and information) and do their best to stay politically neutral, which means they have multiple copies of every record stored in various different planetary systems to prevent any governmental shutdown from also taking them down.
The Exploration Scout Model 6- was commissioned to be faster, lighter, and more durable than the 5 series, along with increased intelligence and communication capabilities. This was accomplished mainly by not including any weaponry or defensive capabilities. Those were not an acceptable loss for the people paying, and the whole line ended up being donated to the IAI, who didn’t care in the slightest about any of that. They took over maintenance and design iteration somewhere in the 6Cs, and the models have mainly gotten lighter, smarter, and more flexible from there. The 6N model was the first to include real transformation capabilities instead of set forms, and it has been a staple of the line ever since, with many older models being retrofitted with the tech. Due to their utter lack of defenses, they are known to be very… creative when performing assignments in dangerous areas.
The Exploration Model 7- can hardly be said to be related, and since the 6 line belongs to a different organization now and has reached the Z iteration there has been serious discussion of renaming them so as to further distance the two. So far no suggested line names have been agreed upon.
Obocri herself paid off her creation debt years ago and is now a free agent, still working for the IAI since she enjoys the work. She was en route to a different system when she hit a cloud of space dust and crash landed in Tokotna, knocking out most of her systems. She was rescued by a wild tokota, Blackbird WF28. Blackbird was shortly after flagged for taming by the TCA, but Obocri was unsuccessful in her attempt. As she completed her repairs and once again was able to access the main database, she realized that the articles relating to Tokotna and the rest of the world were seriously out of date, and decided to do her best to update them. After acquiring her first tokotas she was much less worried about the dangers of the area, and started her task in earnest.
