^{Aningan (meaning "God of the moon") is a female shapeshifter who had previously thought she had been adopted and knew nothing of her real family. She once believed her name to have always been Valerie and answered to that name exclusively.}

^{Her most common forms are a wolf, a housecat, and a horse but she can look like any animal if she so chooses. She is always solid black in color with her red paint across her eyes and the scar she's had for years around her back legs.}

^{Following a relationship that disintegrated, she sought spiritual enlightenment and sought out an ancient shaman that could bring her peace of mind. It led to Aningan going on a journey of her own, leaving her Tokotas, and discovering that things had been hidden from her. She discovered that she was not who she thought she was and that she had never been adopted in the first place. Someone had witnessed her parents transforming and kidnapped her in the hopes she had the same ability. Much of her earliest memories had been forcefully suppressed by Aningan herself, to deal with the situation she found herself in.}

^{The scars on her legs are from being bound when she managed to transform but she managed to escape before anything else could happen to her. She still prefers to live by herself with only animals for company, having been burned too many times by other people, but she has been known to venture out for sporadic interaction.}
