    Despite coming off as harsh towards people, Kira is a very devoted and patient caretaker for her tokotas, often sacrificing her own time and resources to care for their needs. Because of this, she has become an exceptional handler for wild or mistreated tokotas. She recently gained the recognition of the TCA who instructed her with the task of rehabilitating an abused dire named Rebith.

 

    Over time, and many, many, long days, Kira has formed a close bond with Rebith, despite his deep resentment for humans. Kira acts and talks to him as if he was a person, and Rebith treats her as a fellow tokota. They’re more like childhood friends rather than handler and animal. From an outsider’s point of view, they seem to understand each other, though that would be impossible.
