Personality: A wildly extroverted charmer, eager to be a friend to anyone. He'll talk about absolutely anything, usually in the form of a question. He has an inquisitive mind and is whip-crack quick when it comes to picking up new information. He's always going out of his way to be helpful to someone, but sometimes he ends up being more of a hindrance (especially in the world of Tokotas, where he is as green as can be). He is always cold and usually wears at least seven layers (pictured above is his summer wear). Beneath his chipper and outgoing personality is a rather fragile personality. He fears failure, and more than anything he fears ending up alone in the world, or worse, back in Manhattan living the life his mother imagined for him. Sometimes his upbringing gets the better of him; he prefers a warm bed in a nice lodge to sleeping out under the stars, for instance.

History: Theo grew up as heir to the Carroway fortune. As such he was expected to go to the best charter school, the best university, and the best law school to prepare him for running the business empire. Unfortunately, Theo never wanted that life. After his graduation from Yale, he emptied the trust fund his maternal grandmother left him and he moved to Salskanami to become a Tokota rider. It didn't phase him in the least that he had never done it before. His only regret in moving from Manhattan to a remote Northern outpost is that he had to live his younger sister behind.

Family: A very small, rather inbred group of blue bloods from Manhattan. He has a highly toxic relationship with his mother, who was always extremely overbearing. His father is still alive but lives--as far as Theo knows--in London. The only family that Theo has ever known and cared for was his maternal grandmother, who died when he was twelve, and his younger sister Edith. He and Edith were natural allies in a world ruled by their mother; Theo worries about his sister constantly because her health is fragile, and she has at several times been hospitalized. He wants to make enough money to bring her north.
