It's hard out there for a Tokota whose handler was, at the time of said Tokota's christening, just learning to spell. When then-six-year-old QG decided to name her very first Tokota, a Toki, she wanted to name her "Skirt," for the copious amount of fluff that, in puppyhood, seemed to cover the entire floor anywhere the Toki sat down. Unfortunately, when you're six, with Dunning-Kruger in full effect, a few spelling mistakes are bound to happen, and, when you're utterly convinced you know better than the adults around you, getting into a discussion about orthography can easily devolve into a temper tantrum. A big one. Huge. Thus, people just let it go, and the name stuck. Mostly, they were thankful it didn't accidentally turn out any worse.
