Born with unusually 'soft' (and flopped) ears, Bang was speedily purchased by a young estate owner for the novelty of his appearance- rather similar to the young man's English Setters, trained for bird dog work. Bang was only enthusiastic to be trained at this as well (similarly for the novelty), though his size certainly sets him apart from the 'other' English Setters. When 'working' he is very focused on the task at hand- otherwise, he turns into a large rampaging goof, chasing and being chased by his English Setter and other bird dog 'family members'- though he is by far the largest, the bird dogs do not seem to think anything is out of place with their 'brother'.
