Balsa is a very serious tokota, sometimes appearing cold to others though not without reason. Headstrong, wise, and adept at resolving situations where her life may be at risk. At times she is kind when she wants to but has a keen sense of knowing how to act when she's in danger. She was found as an abandoned pup wondering alone through the landscape after her mother had abandoned her in the den as the pack moved on to another den site. Balsa is wild in every way of the word but after spending time with her handler she has somewhat been tamed enough to be ridden and handled safely.
