Nobody really knows how old Merlin is--he's one of those tokotas that's just always been there. He's gentle and quiet, but occasionally his eyes shine with a bit of a wild streak that lets people know he's not quite as tame as he appears. He's quite sly, if anyone gets the chance to get near him, but in general Merlin appears to be a little clumsy and bumbling. The people that live near his range say he must have more than a little magic about him, as he tends to disappear and reappear without warning.
