Caval posesses a very terrier temperment; Energetic, working instinct, friendly as can be to people, with a high prey and digging drive. Caval has been trained to work alongside ferrets, in digging up problematic animals; rabbit infestations, problem foxes, problem badgers, boars. Caval is quite willing to bear the brunt of an assault with bigger animals, some of these, of course too dangerous for the ferrets to be involved in the hunt; with smaller prey, she usually does the brunt of digging while the ferrets do most of the killing. She quite adores handler Maruc, but is very capable of entertaining herself otherwise.
