Alani is almost always distant and emotionless. She seems to not be very conversant, as she generally speaks in one-liners and responds through action instead. Despite usually being mute, Alani is notably more observant and has a better keen sense of danger than her packmates her age. She is also very intellectual. When Alani does speak to other tokotas, she tends to speak in the third person, such as referring her things as "Alani's possessions". While she is undeniably strong, on several occasions Alani hints that she is not to be crossed. However, under this tough image, she is compassionate and likes to help others, often assuming the role of a protector.
