Cunning, ambitious, tenacious, and seemingly complacent, Yumi is perceived to be well put together despite the obvious flaw. Though most of those assumptions are true, there are cracks within the facade she puts on. To cover up a hastily developed fear of deep water caused by a traumatic and humiliating drowning in which she had to be rescued, Yumi expresses hautiness linked with a fake sense of pride. She's very aware of how genetics play a major role in her unique physique, and after losing confidence in herself as a reliable provider and contributor to her tribe she used it to her advantage in the only outlet she knew how; competition. Whether it be elegantly posing before judges or hauling a sled across the icy tundra, Yumi would accept the challenge and aim for success in the fragile hope it would make her feel proficeint. Her logic follows the notion of "why act like anything other than how others see you", which not only reveals her incredibly low self-esteem but also her fear of change; which is mostly planted in a social standpoint. She knows she's fake and she knows she can come off as spiteful when communicating with others, yet she isn't quite sure how to be anything else. She isn't quite sure, sadly, who she really is.
