Balar is often described as a Dire with a serious attitude. He is not keen on downtime nor play and can often be found keeping himself busy.

He is only really trusting of his handler and his packmates, especially getting along with Thistle. The two act like they are brothers. Of the two, Balar is more independent and his bond is not as tight as Thistle and their handlers bond is. Despite this, he is loyal to the bone and very protective of his family as a whole. Balar is often tasked with scouting ahead and helping being the brawn and muscle in situations alongside Thistle.
