Balgair is a giant idiot. He doesn't enjoy being instructed and finds it very amusing to try and get his handler off of him in any way he can find. Despite this he is very aware of what's going on around him. Even when he's goofing off and running wild he can tell you exactly where everything is. He isn't the best hunter, for reasons previously stated, but he has a knack for finding hidden nooks and cranies making him a good exploring companion.
