After a hunting incident that left Desdemona with both mental and physical scars, she is happy to have survived what was once thought to have been a life-threatening injury.

Though her back can make some strenuous activities unbearable, Desdemona is still capable of many things others believed impossible. She even retained her position of Advisor to Vitruvius. Despite being a somewhat respected pack member, she isn't naive to believe she is beloved in the pack. There is no doubt in her mind that there are some who believe her unfit for the position and would prefer to see her fall from grace.
