Very shy and scared of everything despite his enormous size and menacing appearance. He jumps at any sudden noises and is very skittish. He will run from anything, even menacing Tokis. Small creatures scare him the most.

A lot of legend surrounds this Sphinx, and his name suggests that he was the Cerberus that guarded the Underworld and the souls within. Some folks claim that Cerberus (the myth) went missing from the Underworld, and lost his way in the mortal world. They claim he is stuck in another form.
His old owner stole Cerberus from an original owner. The thief was a young prince who was ready to take the thrown, and needed someone to guard and protect him. He sought a strong dire, especially one that remained loyal to him, and was fearless and ferocious. It is not known who this king stole Cerberus from, only that this original owner lived far from the land that the king later ruled. Cerberus underwent intense and cruel training to become the perfect guardian for the king, but revealed to be exactly the opposite of what the king wanted. Cerberus proved to be a coward that feared even small mice, and failed his training.
Most of his scars came from a vicious bear fight that his old owner challenged him to. The dire was blinded in one eye through an accident, but the cause of his neck scars remains a mystery.
The king, Cerberus' owner, was forced out of his land in exile when his people rebelled. During this exile, Cerberus was shunned away by the townspeople, with the king. Not wanting to partake in the exiled king's plots to take back the throne, Cerberus escaped the clutches of his old owner and ran far away.
