This tiny, mysterious toki was taken in when she was only a few years old. She'd been seen wandering around the area by one of the reasearch teams put in charge of the wild tokotas, but before she could be tagged, people at ranch where she now lives managed to coax her into their care with the promise of treats, blankets and friends to play with. She just about reaches the smallest average hight for a toki, and because of her solid black coat and lighter patches, ad because of her skittish, but curious attitude, she was dubbed Blackbird to those who wathed her wild. When she became her handler's though, they named her Deryn, the Welsh word for bird in honour of her long found nickname. Most still know her by her monkier, and she responds to it. Enjoys hanging around her handlers, other tokotas, but toki's mainly. Scared of dires. Loves attention of any kind. Likes to make nests, and run off on her own a lot
