Barnabas is a stern, harsh tokota, but behind his cold demeanor, he can be warm and caring. His harshness comes from his dark past where he lived in an illegal dire ring, run by smugglers hoping to sell them on the black market. During his captivity, Barnabas became some-what of a father figure for many years to a young dire named Rebith. But unlike the other dires trapped there, Barnabas managed to escape, returning to the vast wilderness. After settling into his new home, he came across a lone tokota wandering the tundra. After learning her name, Pale Lilly, he took her to his home and they soon became inseparable. Recently he was able to reconnect with Rebith, where he learned that the TCA shutdown the illegal operation freeing the other dires. Barnabas now lives at peace with his mate Lilly in the deepest part of the tundra.
