Still relatively young and inexperienced. Only a young adult, Sheppard isn't sure he's ready to lead a pack, but he's trying to make the best of a difficult situation. Not wanting to be the sort of pack leader that he sees the other alphas being, Sheppard is trying his own way of doing things -- and with mixed results so far. He's adopted a more open and relaxed authority structure for the pack, with everyone encouraged to share their ideas and opinions.
