A follower by all meanings of the word, Kuiper is a tokota who tends to 'orbit' around the larger tokotas of the pack, despite being one of the bigger ones himself. He feels a pull towards them, and wants to help them as best as he can. Kuiper dislikes taking charge, and is more than happy to just tag along on any expedition that Brent and the pack go out on. It's very easy for Kuiper to get lost, however, and when all else fails will follow whatever tokota happens to be the closest.
