Sunrise was supposed to be a show-toko, always neatly groomed and obedient, ready to pose and orange in the spotlight. However, she escapes from the kennel and sets out on a grand adventure, stumbling through the Kanqisat Forest until she comes upon Siqiniq, who is hiding from her family after throwing a tantrum. The two immediately bond, and Siqiniq brings Sunrise home with her.

When Siqiniq is finally old enough to travel on her own, she goes straight into town and buys the sleek, modern smartphone her parents never allowed her. She and Sunrise then set out to explore Tokotna, eager to become rich and successful, sharing their adventures on social media as they go.
