A secretive loner, he is an expert navigator and survivalist in the dark, subterranean tunnels in which he resides. He only comes out to hunt, and usually does so in the dark of the night. Des is shy, and doesn't care much for company, usually slinking away quietly when others are near, watching from a distance. He cares about other tokotas, however, and will appear to aid those in need, whether it be to help them find their way through the tunnels, or to warn them of dangers.
