Inspiration: Mix of Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation and a very toned down Miles Vorkosigan.

Toko Trek: Helena is a Junior Lieutenant on the SS Endeavor, serving as Tactics Officer under Tasha. She grew up on Naria, a planet which had been cut off from the Association for several generations, and so had minimal access to technology. Her sphinx build was seen as a disadvantage in combat, but she persevered and gained acceptance for her skill before leaving for the Academy.
