Ryder is extremely serious and proud of his discipline. He openly looks down on those who do not fulfill their duties, and to him the term "free-spirited" is used to describe a personality defect. He pays very close attention to his rider, and as he was raised by humans he feels there is no greater calling than to be their partner and guardian. He has no desires to wander or live in the wild, as he thinks feral Tokotas are barbaric. He can be especially snappy with young Tokotas and those who would rather partake in silliness than work, yet he has an amazing amount of self-restraint around even the noisiest, most obnoxious humans, making him an excellent mount for children. Despite all this, he can actually be a great friend to those who wish to contribute to their pack, and he has been known to take particularly driven pups under his wing. As the full brother of Shotgun, the pair of them could not be more different, and they don't exactly get along.
