Calm, shy, sensitive and a pacifist Matthew is usully happy with quiet days with nothing nothing much happening. Because of his quiet personality he usually fits in to the background without meaning to, to the point when one has to point him out in order for others to take notice of his presence. However his calm demeanor has a limit and he is still a good fighter and tactician, though he normally takes a passive-aggressive stance when angered. That, however, is just the first level being reached. Because of his shy nature he is often found right by his handler's side rather than with the rest of his pack.
