Ivy was afraid when Atlas was born. She was afraid that Sikrinerk couldn't chase all the dark spirits away from her daughter, and that she might end up like her father. But as she grew, and Ivy saw her daughters endless curiosity and love for the world she felt as though they were safe.
But Atlas wasn't obsessed with the darkness to the extent her father was. Instead a different shadow followed her, and a deep malignant weight sat in her stomach.
