As a pup, Rey was prone to illnesses and after being weaned he ran into a bad illness that left him in need of constant medical attention and care for a good portion of his pup-hood. Because of his inbred lineage, and a worrisome lump a vet found, his handler made the difficult decision to get him neutered to prevent him from passing on any of his health issues even though he is otherwise perfectly healthy now that he is firmly into his adulthood. Other than having a love for fatty fish and treats, Rey is a healthy and active individual.
