Asariel is a big Tokota. With many dires in his lineage, he not only inherited a slightly larger size compared to other normal tokotas, he also inherited their wild attitude. Although more tame than his dire relatives, he still has wanderlust and a desire to live in the wild. Before he met Drift, he lived among a pack of wolves. The pack was mostly young misfits who looked to Asariel for guidance. They traveled the frosted forests and slopes of the wild, never keeping to any one place for too long. The wolves thought they were independant from their parents and the chains of the packs that once shunned them, but Asariel later learned that they had become dependant on him, eating whatever he caught for them and cowering behind him for protection when faced with threats. Asariel disbanded the pack, ordering them to return to their families and to keep growing into their own so when they were old enough to go alone, they'd be strong enough to survive as well. Heartbroken that he had to part with those he though of as family, Asariel continued wandering, this time aimlessly, and alone. Then he met Drift and his Tokotas. The handler was in his wolf form and was hunting with his pack when they crossed paths. Thinking Drift was a real wolf, Asariel approached them. When he learned Drift was a Skinwalker, he tried to pick a fight with him and the pack. He was emotional and angry, seeing this creature with strong, healthy bonds to the packmates that followed him. Unlike the ones Asariel had forged with his former pack. But Drift surprised him by being gentle and telling his Tokotas to stand down. Asariel, confounded by this strange creature, calmed down and eventually agreed to coming along with Drift and the other Tokotas. In the early days of their relationship, Asariel would come and go as he pleased. Spending nights and sometimes weeks in the wilderness, and then coming back to Drift's pack to interact with the handler and the other Tokotas. As time went on he became attatched to them, pledging his loyalty to the pack and spending most of his time with them. He sometimes leaves for a few days or a week to explore, hunt, or just be alone, but those 'vacations' from the pack happen much less often than before.
