Keen and a little bit mean, Royce isn't the most loyal animal you could find. While those who've gained respect (mostly by dealing with his bs) he'll obey a bit grudgingly, saddling him with a new rider is pretty much asking for trouble, and he'll go well out of his way to be a hindrance if he's really feeling it. On the plus side, he's as excellent a hunter as his mother (although she didn't do much in the way of teaching) as well as a fabulous guard dog.
