Haukea's name means "white snow" in Hawaiian. She's named not only for her coloring, but also her quiet nature. Haukea is incedibly shy and very gentle. Despite her bright coat, she is very good at hiding and will disappear at the first sign of strangers in her vicinity and will even hide from her handler when in a bad mood. The best way to draw her out of hiding is to tempt her with treats. Haukea loves food, especially salty and savory snacks. She also loves children, and is much more warm, friendly, and outgoing around little ones and pups. She loves to explore and is a great ice fisher, but due to her white coat and skitishness, she is not a good hunter.
