Oengus was the oldest and largest of his litter, with a thicker coat than his siblings that allowed him to handle their cold home better than the rest. He was given the name meaning "one strength" because of the protective way he would hover over his siblings, though that energy was quickly turned entirely on the runt of his litter who was sickly and frail. Oggy's protective instincts flared, and he was often aggressive with anyone who tried to take Eshne away from him--he still is to this day. As a young pup he lived in constant fear that he would wake one day and find that she had passed in the night. That fear translated to color most of his life; if she weren't glued to his side, he was dociley following along on whatever adventure she had come up with. At least, as long as they remained indoors. The moment Eshy was allowed to escape the warm, safe house and start running around outside, Oengus was left in the dust, constantly struggling to keep his sister from running off and getting hurt. Even now, he is always chasing after her, struggling to keep her safe and smothering her in the process without even realizing it. No one can drive him up the wall like his curious, adventurous, foolish sister, but he wouldn't have her any other way.
