Belka is Russian for squirrel.... and thus she is aptly named. For some.... inconceivable reason, ever since she was a (relatively) tiny pup, she was a climber. When she could barely walk, she squirmed on top of an overturned food bowl or bucket. Then, as she grew, her hide shelter. If there was any possible way a huge canid could clamber onto something, she found it. Oft times once old enough to wander on her own, she could be seen from a distance balanced on top some high outcropping, watching all that goes on beneath her. And her personality matches her need to be high... she's an over-achiever, and gives her all in everything she does, whether it be in simply sitting, or tracking wayward caribou.
