A very affectionate Tokota who loves to display this affection by either copious licks, or lovingly headbutting what and who-ever is currently subject to it. Around his handler he must be given some kind of attention or else he will begin to lay on top of her, something not easily escaped due to his bulk. However, around strangers- handler and Tokota alike- he becomes quite shy and skittish, frequently hiding behind narrow objects such as trees and lamps. Upon familiarizing himself with the newcomer, though, they are soon treated similarly to his handler.
