In a different life, James Bennett might have made for a good reporter. He has an instinct for rooting out conflict and is fearless enough to follow those instincts. Instead, however, he inherited his family's communications empire and will--upon the death of his father--serve in the House of Lords. To mitigate his personal disappointments, Jack spends a portion of his money funding Delphine's loose cannon projects. He also allows her to use a familial home in north Scotland for a home base if she needs it.

 

Jack's own interest in tokotas is relatively limited, though like most noble born folks he has extensive experience with them as beasts of leisure. He keeps a few at the Scottish estate and visits on weekends and over holidays. Though distanced, he cares deeply for them and spares no expense in their care. He did mistakenly allow Delphine to determine the naming strategy, and often his tokotas end up in far flung corners of the world keeping her company on misadventures.
