Description:

Landmarks:
  • Highland Grotto -An enormous, well traveled cavern with many entrances and natural skylights that allow the sun to filter through. Small and medium plants thrive, giving the ground and walls a lovely coating of green. Deeper within the cave is a shallow but large pool that fills with natural spring water. A massive herd of fluffy highland cows make this area their home due to the shelter, water, and lush grazing available. This herd is familiar and comfortable with humans, and will frequently harass visitors to the area for treats and attention.
  • Skyway’s Gambit A massive stone bridge that passes over a bottomless gorge. Try as one might, you cannot see the bottom. Be careful to not let anything fall over the edge – you won’t even hear the sound it makes when it hits the ground, let alone be able to find it afterwards. This bridge serves as both a vital route for tourists and the park rangers, as it connects the Misae Sanctuary to the Prismatic Mountains.
  • Gateway to the Suns This area contains colossal pillar mountains spaced generously away from each other. These spires are home to natural plants growing at all levels. Very ancient spiral stairways have been carved into some of these as they reach towards the heavens – researchers aren’t sure if they’re due to natural erosion, people carving, or even some other source. When standing on ground level, this area contains a persistent fog. When up high on a perch, though, the pillars look as though they are gently holding the sun above a river of fog.
  • Aurora CaveA cave network burrowing through a massive glacier – the facets of this ice glimmer with the colours of the rainbow when the slightest light splays across them. If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of the glacier moving around you. Surrounding the immediate area are refreshing natural springs.
  • Clarity’s Abyss Also affectionately named Lucid Lake, Clarity’s Abyss is known for being pristine, crystal clear, and so deep that it requires diving equipment to touch the bottom. This is a favorite watering hole for many wild critters. Although you’d never see it from the surface, there are secrets at the lake’s bottom. A statue of a striking moose spirit lies in the depths – though if she exists in the present day, none have seen her.
  • Grand Sanctuary: - A mountain peak with perpetual year round snow due to extreme cold, -40 and colder temperatures have been observed. But if you're willing to travel within the cave, and deeper within, you will find a world like no other. Where the temperatures reach warm, balmy tropics due to volcanic action and the hot springs within, the plant life you'll find here is very similar to that found at the equator. There is much to discover here, including a number of various species previously thought to be extinct.
