Zummazensha Temple

Maquraq
Warm and Humid
Description:
A mysterious temple of stone that is the interest of many explorers; those who are good and those who are bad. The temple door is locked tight by a puzzle that involves pieces needing to be found and arranged properly to unlock it. Interestingly, the etchings around the temple resemble the north western deities mainly worshiped in Taniya and Tartok. There are thought to be bountiful treasures inside its walls and many explorers, and poachers, have attempted to find the pieces to the temple door with little success. If one is lucky enough to find entry they can find the inner sanctum, a large pedestal built into the wall within the temple that holds a giant statue of a tokota with two waterfalls on either side of it.
Landmarks:
  • The Inner Sanctum - The main section of the temple where a large statue of a tokota sits. There are two pillars, one on each side of it, with waterfalls cascading over them into the cavern below.
  • Alouttapochi’s hoard - The name given to the cavern beneath the tokota statue in the sanctum. It is believed that this is the place within the temple that the deity hoards his stash, although nothing is visible from above, but none who have ever found a path into the cavern are heard from again.
Lore:
  • It is rumored this temple is Alouttapochi’s usual haunt, and anything he steals goes in here
  • There is thought to be a secondary entrance only known by the animals of the jungle, offering temporary sanctuary so long as they do not take things from inside
