Crested Mane

Very Rare
Less Textured
-

The Crested is a very rare mane type found on all build types. The Crested mane is hairless across most of its body, with long hair along the head, neck, tail and feet only. They have been selectively bred to exhibit this partial hairlessness.

Their fur requires relatively high maintenance and frequent-to-daily brushing to avoid matting. Likewise, their exposed skin patches are susceptible to harsh climates, requiring the use of sunscreen to avoid sunburns. That also means that they fare poorly in cold weather and should wear coats for protection outdoors.

Due to their unique appearance that sets them visually apart from any other mane, crested manes are considered to be highly sought after for show/pageant-based purposes, as their long fur patches can be groomed into a wide variety of elegant styles.
