Submitting Your Designs


Monthly Submission Limits
  • The monthly design submission limit is listed on the current Design Central Journal. This number is the total amount you're allowed to submit during the month to the following threads: Main Thread, New Members, Soul Pool, Design Den.
  • You may unlock an extra monthly submission slot with Lioness Totem and Dire Dunks Macchiato, which do stack for a total of two extra monthly submissions.
  • Import Updates, Skipped Designs, Special Base Identifying, and all corrections threads do not have any monthly submission limits - you may submit as many as you'd like.

How to Submit Your Design
1. Upload Your Design to Sta.sh
  • (Optional) Before uploading, set your sta.sh presets to full size and allow downloads as shown in this quick sta.sh guide - this is extremely helpful to DC admin and may save you a trip to corrections!
  • Design must be PNG format at original import size (2543 x 1936) for all new designs; Import Updates that keep the same design (paint/item/scar application, etc.) may have upload-size PNG file (1024 x 780).
    Note: If you want the full size PNG file of an uploaded Tokota, send a HOWL to "PSD/PNG Request" department and we'll check if we have a larger size available for that Tokota.
  • Design must be in the sta.sh of the owner of the Tokota.
  • Do not delete your sta.sh file until your Tokota is uploaded. Do not delete designs that received corrections, as you’ll need the previous designs when submitting to corrections.
2. Fill Out the Import Information Template
  • This may be filled out as the Description of your sta.sh file, or as a comment on your sta.sh file.
  • Please only submit the most recent version, found here.
3. Fill Out the Correct DC Form as a Comment on the Sta.sh File
  • Correct DC forms are found here.
  • Failure to use the correct and entire form will result in a correction.
  • Full geno must include the number from the litter.
  • Base coat must be from a Base Coat guide swatch, from a Special Bases guide swatch if possible, or color picked from a specific Tokota from the visible lineage (parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents). If using a Special Base Coats guide swatch, please state which swatch and which Tokota in the visible lineage allowed you to use that special base coat.
  • Similarly, if using Balan Chest Marked, you must link which Tokota in the visible lineage has the marking.
  • See DC Threads section below for more form rules specific to some threads.
4. Reply to the Correct DC Thread with a Link to Your Sta.sh
  • Only one design per comment.
  • Be sure to link your stash file correctly! See this quick guide on how to link stash files.
  • Failure to reply to the correct DC thread will result in being asked to repost to correct thread. Note: If DC is closed and clearing threads, we'll send you to post to corrections so your monthly submission wasn't wasted.
  • Your Import Information Template and DC form must be filled out before you submit your Tokota to the DC thread. Submitting Tokotas without information filled out is considered using "placeholder comments" or saving a space in line, and is not acceptable.

DC Threads


Your design must be submitted to the correct thread, or else you will be asked to repost.

All Members
All Members thread is the standard thread for submitting designed Tokota genos.
  • Anyone may use this thread.
  • Corrections will be sent to Main Thread & New Members Corrections.
  • You cannot apply items to your Tokotas on this thread.
New Members
New Members thread is restricted to members submitting their first Tokota.
  • This thread may only be used once per user, only for their first Tokota.
  • Corrections will be sent to Main Thread & New Members Corrections.
  • You may only submit your first Tokota to this thread. The Tokota does not have to be designed by the owner. You are disqualified from this thread if you have uploaded Tokotas or have submitted to any DC thread.
  • You cannot apply items to your Tokota on this thread. If you are applying items to your first Tokota, you must post to Soul Pool thread instead.
Soul Pool
Soul Pool thread is for submitting designed Tokota genos with items applied.
  • Anyone may use this thread.
  • Corrections will be sent to Soul Pool Corrections.
  • All items must be in your possession before being applied to a design. You cannot have multiple people "confirming" that admins can pull items from their bank -- the items must all have already been transferred and belong to the owner of the Tokota being submitted.
  • When applying Small or Large Items, you must list what is being added/changed on your Tokota in the DC form comment.
  • When applying HP tokens to make a submissive geno become average, you may only use exactly 38 HP Tokens. HP Tokens cannot be combined with Faction HP bonuses or any other forms of HP to reach average status in DC.
At Soul Pool, you may apply many items, including:
From the Special section of your bank:
  • Dire Dunks Macchiato (additional DC monthly limit)
  • Elemental Hearts (removal of defect: Frail, Blind, Lame, Deaf, or Spinal Defects)
  • HP Tokens (38 HP Tokens to boost Submissive Tokota to Average Hierarchy)
  • PotA Tokens (See the Passage of the Alpha Guide for more information on the requirements and benefits of PotA Tokens.)
  • Soul Mirror (add Mane Variant)
  • Soul Pool Water (add Physical Traits)
From the Decor section of your bank:
Import Updates
Import Updates thread is for submitting changes to uploaded Tokotas.
  • Anyone may use this thread.
  • Unlike other threads, there is no monthly submission limit. Submissions to Import Updates will not count toward your monthly DC limit.
  • Corrections will be sent to Import Updates corrections.
  • All items must be in your possession before being applied to a Tokota. You cannot have multiple people "confirming" that admins can pull items from their bank -- the items must all have already been transferred and belong to the owner of the Tokota being updated.
  • When applying Small or Large Items, you must list what is being added/changed on your Tokota in the DC form comment.
  • Note: If a Tokota was approved - and uploaded - with a missing marking or a marking that is not in the genotype, you do not have to update the design to match the genotype. If wanting to change the design, it would require a Do-Over Token.
In Import Updates, you may apply these items:

Member Conduct

  • Please be respectful to the admins who review your designs. If you are confused about a correction, you may send a note to DesignDen for questions or clarification.
    • If you have not gotten a response within two weeks, you may send a second note about the same question.
  • Arguing with or insulting admins who comment on your design will not be tolerated. Keep in mind that we are a group of volunteers who devote our free time to helping run Tokotas - we do not want to send your designs to corrections.
  • Do not reply to other members' DC comments or comment on sta.sh files with design judgement or tips. Only DC admins should be correcting designs.
  • Do not "save your space in line" by submitting placeholder comments on DC threads, without filling out the full Import Information Template and DC form. This will earn you an official group warning.
Correction Clarifications / Second Opinions
While we do encourage members to ask for clarification on corrections, second opinions on every design is just not possible and it slows DC down. If you are unsure about a specific correction, please send a H.O.W.L. DeviantArt is not reliably giving notifications for replies to stash comments, so sending a H.O.W.L is our best option. We are making an effort to have all of these questions answered in a timely manner, typically within one week. If you do not receive a response within two weeks, you may send a second note about the same topic.
