Sphinx Mane

Rare
Less Smooth
-

The Sphinx is a rare mane type found in tokotas, and displays on all build types. Sphinx is actually a misnomer. Whilst appearing naked like the Sphinx cat, the Sphinx is covered in fur made up of tight curls, more in line with the Rex cat. As with all tokota fur, this mane is a double coat that repels water.

This is one of the oldest recorded mane types, second only to Natural and Half manes. The Sphinx mane has long been bred for by native Tokotnians along the coast as a fishing and an ice hunting companion. This mane type is ideal for cold water swimming as it is easy to monitor the amount of blubber on the tokota's body and the short, water-repellent fur dries quickly if soaked through, however, on long treks during harsh winters, the Sphinx requires blankets to help keep warm.

Their unique appearance makes them highly sought after within the show world and also gives them an edge as racing tokotas.
